| | | The purpose of this article is to highlight the domestic experience of industrialization accumulated in pre-revolutionary Russia and the role of the subjective factor in a market economy. The authors believe that in the current period of crisis of economic theory in Russia, the role of the historical method of research is significantly increasing. The revival of industrial policy in the present-day Russia is associated with extreme conditions dictated by sanctions and the special military operation. Many analysts criticize the Central Bank’s policies aimed at suppressing inflation, but not stimulating industrial growth. While in agriculture production volumes have practically doubled over the last decade, industrial growth rate varies between 1.5–3 percent. Even in pre-revolutionary Russia, industrial growth, “pushed” by the state, was much higher. This circumstance requires the inclusion of historical experience in the use by the state of instruments of more effective industrial policy. | | Key words: industrialization, historical research method, S.Yu. Witte, D.I. Mendeleev, industrialization in pre-revolutionary Russia | | Pages: 204 - 209 |
