| | | The article analyzes factors limiting the widespread use of national currencies in international payments of the Russian Federation. Obstacles have been identified that complicate the transition to the Russian national currency in international payments. A comparison of liquidity indicators of various currencies was made using general scientific methods of analysis, as well as a comparison and synthesis of data obtained from official sources of the Central Bank of Russia and expert publications. The authors conduct a detailed analysis of the current state of affairs in international settlements of the Russian Federation, identify the reasons for the low attractiveness of the ruble for foreign partners, and define prospects for growing of the share of the ruble in the world economy.
