| | | Sustainable economic growth in the world is seriously hampered by the inefficient use of water resources. Despite the widely recognized importance of trade for global and regional water and food security, there is a lack of research on this topic in Russia. One of the increasingly popular assessment approaches is water resource decoupling and models using the concepts of virtual water and water footprint. In particular, the article addresses the Tapio Model, the Hoekstra Concept of water footprint, Hung Model of the ecological footprint of water resources (WEF), etc. These concepts have been introduced into scientific circulation in the last 20–30 years and have become widespread abroad in recent years. The purpose of this study is to discuss the approaches to decoupling calculations using virtual water trading. | | Key words: virtual water, water footprint, water footprint concept, decoupling, recoupling, export of virtual water, green water, blue water | | Pages: 220 - 222 |
