| | | The article discusses the existing infrastructural support of the social insurance system against accidents and occupational diseases in Kazakhstan in the institutional aspect, researched during the implementation of the scientific and technical program titled “Economic problems of safe work and institutional transformations of the insurance mechanism in the Republic of Kazakhstan” (IRN -BE11965728-OT-22). The program was implemented within the framework of program-targeted funding of research of the Republican Research Institute for Labor Protection of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The authors describe directions of development and improvement of the institutional infrastructure of industrial accident insurance in accordance with the established trends in the international practice and based on the assessment of the current state and the need to ensure decent working conditions in the Republic of Kazakhstan. The study is based on the institutional analysis tools. The problem under discussion is related to the national specificity of the implementation of this type of insurance, its multi-subjectivity and the participation of non-governmental insurance companies.
