| | | The article discusses the theory of growth stages by W. Rostow, based on the system approach to understanding the historical development of the economy. The authors distinguish consecutive stages of this development, from the initial forms of organization to modern market systems, with the focus on the possibility of practical use of the main postulates of the theory in the transformation of developing countries for understanding and planning economic development. In the context of the theory, the article identifies the key provisions, conditions, factors, time stages that determine the need for their inclusion in the transformation process, primarily in developing national economies.
