| | | The article is dedicated to the study of Russia’s potential as a country leading the BRICS carbon markets association. The authors discuss the current state and development prospects of the BRICS carbon markets, analyze prerequisites and potential impact of Russian initiatives in the field of carbon markets on international cooperation and mitigation of the consequences from the introduction of a transboundary carbon tax of the European Union (EU).
