| | | The article focuses on the history and content of engineering and economic education in the USSR, when engineering and economic institutes with branch faculties were opened, where specialists were trained to work at the level of workshops, factories, combines, power plants, construction sites. The author shows that the training of such specialists required knowledge of real production processes and that such experience had been largely borrowed from engineering and economics education in Germany, where the training of economic engineers was conducted mainly in specialized practice-oriented universities.
